Description

Sichuan TCM herb used to move blood and qi, particularly for headache, menstrual conditions, and cardiovascular support.

An ornamental shrub used in Thai traditional medicine for menstrual disorders and hypertension.

Traditional Uses

blood moving herb for headaches in TCM, treatment of menstrual pain and irregular cycles, cardiovascular tonic

Modern Uses

vasodilator, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory

antihypertensive, anti-inflammatory, analgesic

Adult Dosage

3-9g dried root decoction or 300mg extract

6-15g flower or root daily

pregnancy - blood moving herb, anticoagulants, heavy menstrual bleeding

headache with overdose - paradoxical, GI upset

generally well tolerated
