Marshmallow root is a plant native to Europe, Western Asia, and North Africa that has been used medicinally for over 2,000 years. Like slippery elm, it produces a mucilaginous substance that soothes and coats irritated tissues. The original marshmallow confection was made from this plant root.

Thyme is an aromatic herb from the mint family, native to the Mediterranean, used both culinarily and medicinally for thousands of years. It is particularly valued for respiratory conditions due to its potent antimicrobial and expectorant properties. Thyme extract is an approved treatment for bronchitis in Germany.
