Description

Aromatic shrublet of the Iberian Peninsula with white flowers and cineole-rich essential oil unlike most thymes.

Aromatic perennial herb native to East Asia used in TCM to disperse wind-heat, clear the head and eyes, and course liver qi.

1,8-cineole, sabinene, linalool, camphor, flavonoids

Traditional Uses

Traditional Spanish and Portuguese remedy for respiratory conditions, Used for headaches and digestive complaints in Iberian folk medicine

wind-heat cold, headache, sore throat, liver qi stagnation, itchy skin

Modern Uses

Expectorant action, Antimicrobial, Digestive support, Decongestant

antipyretic, decongestant, carminative, anti-inflammatory

Adult Dosage

Tea: 1-2 tsp per cup 3x/day

3–6g decoction

Pregnancy in high doses
