Lentinula edodes mycelium
Extrait proprietary de mycélium de champignon Shiitake pour l'activité des lymphocytes NK et la surveillance immunitaire.
AHCC (Active Hexose Correlated Compound) is a proprietary fermented extract from shiitake mushroom (Lentinula edodes) mycelium, standardized to its unique alpha-glucan profile. It is primarily used for immune modulation, particularly in cancer support and HPV clearance, with research suggesting enhancement of natural killer (NK) cell activity and dendritic cell function. Key active compounds include acetylated alpha-1,4-glucans, which are thought to mediate its immunomodulatory effects.
AHCC enhances innate immunity by increasing the number and activity of NK cells, dendritic cells, and macrophages. It modulates cytokine production, including upregulation of interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), while reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines like IL-6. The alpha-glucans in AHCC are recognized by dectin-1 and TLR-2/4 receptors on immune cells, leading to activation of NF-κB and MAPK pathways. Additionally, AHCC may improve antigen presentation and promote a Th1-dominant immune response.
