Its key active compounds include beta-glucans, acidic polysaccharides, ergosterol, and melanin, which contribute to its antiplatelet, hypolipidemic, immunostimulant, and anti-tumor properties.
The antiplatelet effects are mediated through inhibition of platelet aggregation via modulation of thromboxane A2 and cyclic AMP pathways.
