Root extracts showed inhibitory activity against α-glucosidase and DPP (IV), and enhanced insulin secretion and glucose uptake [PMID:33249946]. In animal studies, 250 mg/kg of leaf extract normalized blood glucose levels and improved body weight gain in alloxan-induced diabetic rats [PMID:39130077].
