Cynanchum stauntonii
Héliao de médecine traditionnelle chinoise (MTC) qui dirige le qi des poumons vers le bas, utilisé pour toux avec phlegme froid et sifflement.
Cynanchum stauntonii, a traditional Chinese herb, is primarily used to direct lung qi downward for treating phlegm-cold cough and wheezing. Its key active compounds include glaucogenins, cynanchol, paeonol, and C21-steroids, which contribute to its antitussive, expectorant, and anti-inflammatory effects.
The antitussive action is attributed to glaucogenins and C21-steroids that suppress cough reflex by modulating TRPV1 and opioid receptors in the medulla. Expectorant effects involve paeonol and phenanthrene derivatives stimulating bronchial secretion via M3 muscarinic receptor activation and increasing mucociliary clearance. Anti-inflammatory activity is mediated through inhibition of NF-κB and COX-2 pathways, reducing cytokine release.
