Drynaria fortunei
Rhizome de fougère en médecine traditionnelle chinoise pour la réparation osseuse; le nom signifie littéralement « complément pour os brisés »; favorise la guérison des fractures.
Drynaria fortunei, known as Gu Sui Bu in Traditional Chinese Medicine, is a fern rhizome traditionally used for bone repair and regeneration. Modern research supports its use in fracture healing, osteoporosis, and alopecia, with key active flavonoids such as naringin and hesperidin contributing to its osteogenic and anti-inflammatory effects.
Drynaria fortunei promotes osteoblast differentiation and bone mineralization via activation of BMP-2/Smad and Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathways. Its flavonoid naringin stimulates osteoprotegerin (OPG) expression while inhibiting RANKL, thereby reducing osteoclast activity. Additionally, it exhibits anti-inflammatory effects through suppression of NF-κB and COX-2, and may enhance hair growth by increasing vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and fibroblast growth factor (FGF) in dermal papillae.
