Myrtus communis (myrtle) is a Mediterranean aromatic shrub with a long history of traditional use for respiratory, urinary, and skin conditions. Its key active compounds include myrtucommulone, quercetin, and tannins, which contribute to antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant effects.
