Ixora chinensis
Arbuste ornemental utilisé en médecine traditionnelle thaïlandaise pour les troubles menstruels et l'hypertension.
Ixora chinensis, known as Dok Khem in Thai traditional medicine, is an ornamental shrub used for hypertension and menstrual disorders. Its key active compounds include rubiadin, nordamnacanthal, anthocyanins, and flavonoids, which contribute to its antihypertensive, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties.
The hypotensive effect is attributed to flavonoids and anthocyanins that inhibit angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and enhance nitric oxide (NO)-mediated vasodilation. Anti-inflammatory activity involves suppression of cyclooxygenase (COX) and lipoxygenase (LOX) pathways, reducing prostaglandin and leukotriene synthesis. The anthraquinones rubiadin and nordamnacanthal exert analgesic effects via modulation of opioid receptors and inhibition of nociceptive signaling.
